Copy Craft Printers opened in Lubbock, Texas in the summer of 1985. Following the old adage, "Find a need and fill it," Copy Craft opened as a service bureau/commercial printer with the idea of helping small- to medium-size businesses establish an advertising presence through print media and direct mail. Opening with a staff of five people who were relatively new to the printing business, Copy Craft has grown to become the largest commercial printer in the South Plains area of Texas.
With a lot of luck, Copy Craft was the first commercial printer in the U.S. to base graphic arts and typesetting on the Apple Macintosh computer. In the days of 400k floppy disks and no hard drives, Copy Craft used what was available to offer small businesses direct mail pieces, hand outs, business cards and letterhead. The owners set newspaper ads and put together mailers and piggyback mail for a variety of customers.
The success this method brought to our customers quickly spread by word of mouth. Copy Craft grew and expanded to fill the needs of small businesses, advertising agencies, and in-house ad departments of some larger, nationally recognized businesses. In the early years, our customer base included agriculture related businesses, hospitals and food distribution companies, as well as small mom-and-pop operations.
In the late '80s, Copy Craft became a major factor in the West Texas printing market. We offered a one stop facility that furnished color printing, graphic design, imagesetting services, ad speciality products, business forms, screen printing, high volume mailing services, mailing lists, and more.
In 1989, Copy Craft bought and installed the first five-color printing press in West Texas. Our Heidelberg presses and Linotronic imagesetting services put Copy Craft ahead of our local competition and allowed us to service even larger businesses.
In 1996, Copy Craft became the first printer in West Texas to offer waterless printing. Our new Komori L528 5-color press provided unparalleled quality printing for our customers near and far. Its computerized features allowed us to produce brighter color images, print jobs quicker, reduce paper waste and keep records of color settings for reprinting jobs in the future.
As Copy Craft grew, we did not forget the small businesses. We continue to offer a complete duplicator department, which many commercial color houses shun. Our base of printing and related services is now one of the broadest in the industry. Today, with over 100 people on staff, Copy Craft can deliver a wider variety of products than any commercial house in the nation. Our sales department offers the fastest quotes, shortest turnaround time, and highest quality available. Our production facility works around the clock, meeting the needs of some of the largest and smallest businesses in the United States.
Today, with our waterless presses and state-of-the-art color technology, Copy Craft is setting new standards for the industry. We print all of our process color work at 300 line screen. The results are breathtaking.
Satisfied customers throughout the U.S. and many other countries find Copy Craft more convenient than their local printer. They find the quality, fast service, creativity and variety they need in one central location. Our "YES" attitude takes all the worry out of doing business out of town. We have shipping agreements with all the major carriers plus specialty shipping arrangements for heavy air freight and counter-to-counter delivery by major airlines. Please take a moment and call our professional sales staff. I also invite you to read what some of our customers have to say about us. You will be glad you did.
